One of the hardest things it is for us to admit is that we failed. However in order for us to grow as parents we must admit that we have short comings.   These are some of the times and ways in which we failed and failed spectacularly.  

1. On a bright sunny and breezy day many years ago, Waffle decided to put the windows down in the car a little further than normal. Our littlest little decided it would be fun to take off his shoe and toss them out the window (a sign of things to come((the kid has a cannon for an arm)). Waffle saw the reflection of a shoe bouncing in front of the car behind him and nearly caused a wreck. Low and behold and unbeknownst to him while Waffle was picking up the shoes Our Middle little decided that he would toss his blankie out as well.  It wasn't until later on that night and after having to deal with a tortured toddler all day that Waffle realized blankie was missing. Thank God for family who went to the thrown shoe location and located blankie lying safe and sound on the side of the road.  Looking back now we laugh but in that moment it was a spectacular fail.
